2023年12月SAT机考阅读考试题回忆

1. 语境词汇题（Words in Context）：大部分题目和选项单词都还是很友善的，据回忆，本次考试中出现了以下单词：conspicuous、mitigate（四套题里有）、buttress（四套题里有）、repudiate（四套题里有）tenuous，interdependent、constrict、sporadic、disturbing、deserving等。

Some robots such as Surena (developed in 2008) and COMAN (developed in 2012) feature humanoid characteristics like bipedal locomotion so that people will “find it easier to interact with them.” While these features can help to ______ feelings of comfort in people, a robot that looks too like human can fall into the "uncanny valley*," meaning that its appearance unintentionally unsettles those who encounter it.

这道题在今年3月第一次机考中已经考过，文本一模一样，只不过这次把四个选项都换了。3月时这道题的答案是engender（产生、引发），但此次并没有这个选项，而是换成了mitigate、buttress、repudiate、constrict，完全不同。根据文本信息和逻辑关系，这次应该选buttress。如果是光记答案、不知其所以然的考生拿到题目的时候恐怕先是惊喜而后惊吓吧，所以光看各大机构所谓的“原题”是没有用的，一定要知其然知其所以然。同时，这次这道题的四个选项全是四套题里考过的，再次证明官方的题才是YYDS。

*知识拓展：uncanny valley（恐怖谷效应）指随着模拟物(如机器人、玩偶等)模拟真实性程度的变化，人对其亲和力也会产生变化，一般规律是亲和力随着模拟程度增高而增高。但当模拟程度高达一个较高临界点时，人的亲和力反映会陡然跌入谷底，突然会产生对这个模拟物的排斥、恐惧、困惑等负面心理。

2.文本结构/目的题（Text Structure and Purpose）：这次老师overall structure、main purpose of the text以及function of the underlined sentence都有遇到，其中句子功能题稍微多一些。

In a study by Mika R. Moran, Daniel A. Rodriguze, and colleagues, residents of Caracas, Venezuela, and of Fortaleza, Brazil, were surveyed about parks in their cities. Of the 1,043 respondents from Caracas, 44.7% indicated that they use the city's parks, and of the 938 respondents from Fortaleza, 35.7% indicated using city parks. It may be tempting to assume the difference is due to different levels of access to parks: however, given that the percentage of Caracas respondents who reported living within a 10-minute walk of a park was much lower than that reported by Fortaleza respondents, greater proximity alone can't explain the difference in park use.

3. 文本证据题：quotation类的题中有一道题是小说文本，问原文哪句话表达了主人公拿到一大笔钱后的反应，老师这次并未遇到诗歌文本。但是同考场的其他考生表示有遇到一首现代诗，主要问原诗哪句话表达了诗人复杂的情感，难度不大。这次老师遇到的if true的题目较多，其中有一题涉及多细胞动物起源研究的细菌实验，有一种细菌遇到别的细菌会集成群，而后实验用到了两种别的细菌，问哪一个选项中的现象能支持实验结论。

4. 双篇题：老师和同考场的其他考生都只遇到了一道双篇，且大部分都是在module2考到。
